Filey Town Council has worked in partnership to provide two community defibrillators, one for the town centre which is housed on the former HSBC Bank by kind permission of Co-op FuneralCare Services and one on the seafront which is housed on the wall of the H M Coastguard building by kind permission of H M Coastguard.
Sponsorship funding for the defibrillators has been provided by H M Coastguard, Co-op FuneralCare Services, the former Filey & District Safety Committee, Filey Rotary Club and the Town Council’s Emergency Planning Group.
The defibrillators are very easy to use and can be used by anyone, if required just dial 999 and the Ambulance Service will provide a code to access the defibrillator and once the device is switched on it will talk you through how to use it and where to place the pads. The device will analyse a persons heart rhythm and will only provide an electric shock if required.
Filey Town Council wishes to thank all the above sponsors for their valuable contributions towards the provision of this vital community lifesaving equipment.
Other defibrillators in the town are located at Filey Golf Club, Tesco, Filey Surgery, My Dentist, The Evron Centre, and Filey Junior School.
To seek to reduce the risk of flooding to properties and associated risks to residents thus improving the quality of life of the people of Filey.
