Commemorative Seats

Filey Town Council manages approximately 500 Commemorative Seats in Filey and members of the public are invited to make a donation towards the maintenance of a Commemorative Seat in the form of a 10 year agreement.

This means that the seat is still owned by the Town Council at all times but is maintained by a contribution from the donor. During the term of the agreement the Town Council will arrange for the Commemorative Seat to be maintained, repaired or replaced should it suffer any damage caused by vandalism.

As requests for Commemorative Seats and plaques are received they will be placed on the Town Council's waiting list and when a seat becomes available it will be offered to the next person on the list.

Upon expiry of the 10 year maintenance agreement the Town Council will offer to extend the original agreement by offering a second maintenance agreement to the donor, depending on the condition of the seat.
