Temporary Closure Of Filey Museum – 8 to 10 Queen Street

As the owner of the building, the Town Council has been working with the museum trustees on a project to carry out essential repairs to secure the future of the grade II listed building that houses their collection. The necessary approvals are now in place and work is about to start but this requires the temporary closure of the museum and the collection moving into safe storage.

Because of the complexity of working on such a historic building it is likely that the project will take up to six months to complete. During this period the museum will remain closed and the building will be designated as a building site with access strictly controlled. The Town Council will provide updates on this project as it progresses.
